With the festive season upon us here are some important dates for your diaries when it comes to ordering with over this time period.

Last  guaranteed orders for Christmas:

Wednesday 5th December is the last day to order to guarantee orders arrive in time for Christmas. 

Workshop Times:

The workshop will be open until Thursday 20th December and will reopen on Tuesday 22nd 2019. Orders can still be placed in this time but will not be started until we reopen on the 22nd. 

We are running our annual Black Friday offers from Thursday 22nd to Tuesday 27th November. You can get 10% off ALL our handmade products when using the code BLACKFRIDAY2018.

It is with great excitement that I can announce our new partnership with Abbey England.

Based in Knutsford, Cheshire Abbey England are the leading supplier of tools, leather and top quality fittings to the UK saddlery industry. They have held a Royal Warrant since 1995 and house a foundry in Walsall where they craft buckles, saddlery accessories and riding bits to name a few. 

As a keen user of Abbey England's tools (as well as their amazing buckles and fittings used on all of our leatherwork) it is with great excitement that we will now be working together. Abbey have supplied us with 4 sets of tools allowing students to use these top quality tools on all of our courses. The images below show just a few of the tools that students will be able to use on out courses.

As mentioned in our January post we are now exited to announce our first course!

To start with we have scheduled our first introduction to leatherwork course. This course is running on the 21st -23rd August and will have a maximum of 4 students. You will learn the basics of leatherwork including tool sharpening, hide selection, hand stitching, loop making and you will complete your own belt or dog collar project. 

If there is demand for the course we are looking to put on another in September, so if you miss out on this one please email us and we will add you to the mailing list so you are kept up to date. 

As we get into the colder months more courses will be put together and scheduled for the spring and summer months of 2019.

Workshop News

Been another busy few months in the workshop for us fulfilling orders, making videos and coming up with new designs and items.  I am please to say that I have just added a couple of new products to our website, the clincher dog collar and the A4 leather bound journal.  

The clincher dog collar is made in the same way as our clincher browband and comes in a range of colours and sizes as well as brass or nickel clincher fittings.

The leather bound journal was commissioned to us by an artist looking for a stylish way to carry their sketch books around. It is such a great item and so was added to the website, the journals are currently available in a conker leather colour but we will be adding some more leather colours to this range – distressed leather in chocolate and maybe some other colours to.

If you are wanting to order from us for Christmas please order before the 10^th December, orders received after this date cannot be guaranteed to be ready in time for Christmas.

Been really busy here in the workshop getting orders made and out to their new homes. Inbetween making up the orders I have also been filming and editing some videos for the YouTube channel. So far there are 14 videos to watch including several tutorials and two highlight videos. Even if you are not interested in making your own leather items these videos will give you an insight as to what goes into making each item offered by J.H.Leather.
