Online Ordering Terms and Conditions 

Cancellations, Refunds and Returns

Please note that orders for goods that have been custom made, made to order or personalised cannot be returned for a refund unless faulty or damaged.

Though we aim to get your item to as soon as possible, all our items are handmade, so please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. When you have ordered your item we will contact you with an up to date timescale.

• Upon receiving your order, if it does not live up to your expectations you have the right to return them within 14 days. This excludes any bespoke, made to order, personalised or embossed items.

• Orders will be made to the sizes provided when ordered. Any mistakes when measuring are not the responsibility of J.H. Leather. We cannot accept returns or offer refunds on items that were measured wrong. Please see our measuring guide for details on how to measure your new item. • We cannot accept returns on bespoke, made to order, personalised or embossed items unless there is a fault with the product.

• Where an acrylic template has been purchased that contained a copy of a PDF pattern, which has been downloaded, the price of the PDF version will be removed from your refund amount, should a refund be requested. 

• If you intend on returning a product you must let us know in writing or via email within 14 days of receiving your item, please enclose your name, order number and the reason you want to return your item.

• When returning an item you are responsible for postage costs.

• All returned items need to be in new, unused and unmarked condition.

• A refund will be given within 14 days of receiving the returned items to us, items over £150 will incur a 10% restocking fee, which will be deducted from the refund. Refunds will be made via the original payment method.

• Customers are responsible for collecting parcels held at local shipping facilities. In the result of parcels going unclaimed and have been returned to J.H.Leather, no refund will be given and the customer will need to cover the cost of shipping back to them.
  

• If any import fees or taxes are due to be paid by J.H.Leather for a return of an item from overseas, this amount will be taken out of the total amount available for a refund.

• Items sent outside the UK, may incur import duties and taxes, you, the buyer, are responsible for these. 

Incorrectly Delivered Goods

In the case of incorrectly delivered items, items must be in as new and unused condition when returned to us. If you have received the incorrect goods, please contact us immediately. As soon as we receive the incorrect goods back, we will arrange delivery of the correct goods and refund the postage costs incurred. We recommend using a signed for service to return any goods.

Ordering

If you would like to order from J.H.Leather you can order straight from our website and pay by Card or PayPal (you do not require a PayPal account to order this way).

Once we receive your order we will contact you with a confirmation email and up to date timescale on orders.

Orders will be made up to the sizes provided when ordered, any mistakes when measuring are not the responsibility of J.H. Leather. Worldwide Shipping

Want to place an order, but you don’t live in the United Kingdom? We can ship worldwide! If you are interested in ordering from outside the United Kingdom, please select the international postage option and check out. Please note when ordering from outside the UK you may incur an import tax duty when the parcel enters your country. You will be liable to cover this cost.

Postage
All items sent within the United Kingdom are sent singed for via Royal Mail, these items take roughly 2 working days to be delivered. International parcels are sent International Tracked and Signed for via Royal Mail or via UPS. Items sent outside the United Kingdom may take to up 21 days to be delivered. Parcels can be tracked via the email sent out upon posting.

If an item is lost in transit, a case will be raised with the carrier and upon receipt of compensation, a replacement item will be sent out. This process can take a while, so please be patient whilst the case is in progress. 

Leathercraft Workshops and Online Learning Terms and Conditions.

Bookings for workshop days and online lessons made via our website, email, telephone or in person are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions listed below. Places on training days are provisional until full payment has been received. Upon your booking we will contact you with confirmation and an information pack.

Cancellations and Refunds

1:1 workshops run from 1st April - 31st October each year. 

Upon ordering a 1:1 workshop, you have 14 days in which to cancel for a full refund. Please contact J.H. Leather in writing or via email with your name and order number. A refund will then be issued using the same payment method made upon ordering.

Once an order for a 1:1 workshop has been placed, you will need to contact J.H. Leather in order to book your day(s). Booking of the workshop day(s) need to be made within 6 months of the original order date. Any workshop day(s) that are not booked within this time frame will be forfeit, and a new order will need to be placed. 

Once workshop dates have been confirmed, you are able to cancel for any reason up to 4 weeks of the scheduled date for a refund, minus a 10% administration fee. A refund will be issued using the same payment method used in the original order. Alternatively, a new date can be booked at no additional cost. 

Cancellations received within 4 weeks from the chosen start date are non-refundable, instead an alternative date will be offered. 

Workshops can only be rescheduled once. If you are unable to attend this rescheduled date, the workshop is forfeit and no refund will be given.

1:1 workshops ordered as a gift are non-refundable 14 days after the initial order date. If a cancellation is made within this time, a refund will be issued using the original payment method. Booking of the workshop day(s) need to be made within 6 months of the original order date. Any workshop day(s) that are not booked within this time frame will be forfeit, and a new order will need to be placed. 

If you are booking a multiple day 1:1 workshop, it can be arranged that the days are spread out and not concurrent. No refund will be given after the first day has been completed, if you need to cancel, are unable to attend or do not book any remaining days. You will have 6 months in which to book the first day of your workshop and all days will need to be completed within the workshop running time for that year. (1st April - 31st October). 

If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of the scheduled workshop start date, no refund will be given, but alternative dates will be offered at a 50% discounted rate. 

Workshops and online support are for the purpose of leather training only, instances where the student acts inappropriately will end in the termination of the session immediately and no refund will be given.

J.H. Leather retains the right to cancel a workshop day or online lesson for any reason without notice. The student will be offered alternative dates or a full refund. J.H. Leather is not responsible for any costs incurred by students for travel, accommodation, or any other service.

Any refunds will be made via the original payment method.

Please Note:
Workshop days or online lesson are offered on an informal basis and are not certified courses. If you are looking to create your own business in leather craft, we highly recommend that you get appropriate insurance beforehand.

Images
J.H. Leather may document your workshop day(s) by taking videos and images. Students will be asked permission before doing so. Images will be used on the J.H. Leather website, social media accounts and for marketing purposes.

Digital Downloads Terms and Conditions

Upon ordering a Digital Download, you have 14 days in which to cancel, for any reason for a full refund, unless you download your ordered item with in that time. If you download your item with in 14 days, then the right to cancel will be lost and no refund given.

 We do not accept refunds on digital products, please read the descriptions of each digital listing carefully to ensure you are purchasing the correct product.

Licences: Each digital file will have the use licence listed clearly on the product listing. Please ensure you read this before purchase.

• Personal use licence allows for the use of the patterns for personal use only meaning you cannot profit from any item made using these patterns. Patterns under the Personal use licence are meant to be used as a training aid to help you learn the craft of leatherwork. You will need to make significant changes to the design in order to sell products.

• Commercial use licence allows small, handmade leather crafters to sell goods made using these patterns. These patterns can not be used for large, commercial scale manufacturing. Items made using these patterns can be sold under your own name in accordance with the above statement where you, the crafter is making these on a small scale.

The patterns cannot be re sold, shared, or redistributed electronically or otherwise.

These patterns are not to be used in a teaching situation, as this is deemed as sharing

You may not sell, share or redistribute any of our patterns.

Digital file formats are listed on each product page, please ensure your printer is compatible with the listed paper sizes to ensure the correct printing of patterns.

You are limited to a maximum of 2 downloads per purchased pattern so ensure you keep your downloads safe. J.H. Leather is not responsible for loss of patterns, and you will need to repurchase patterns in the case of loss if you have reached your maximum download allowance.

Digital downloads are sent via a downloadable email link, please check your junk mail folder in case the email ends up there.

Each download comes with the use licence, please read carefully before using the patterns to ensure you use the patterns correctly.

Anyone seen to be selling products made using our personal use licence may face legal action.

Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Gift vouchers are non-refundable and can not be returned or exchanged.

Gift vouchers can not be used to purchase additional gift vouchers.

Gift vouchers can be used in full or part payment throughout our online store.

No change will be given on any unused balance and will remain on the gift voucher, this can then be used towards future purchases.

If your gift voucher is to be used to book a course, the booking must be made before the expiry date shown on the gift voucher, though the actual course can take place at a later date.

Promotional offers such as discounts do not apply to gift vouchers.

Gift vouchers are e-vouchers and will be automatically emailed out to the supplied email address at checkout. Please ensure you use the correct address when ordering and remember to check your junk email folder.

Leather Care

Leather is a natural product that loses a small amount of oil every day of its life, this needs to be put back in to stop it drying out and cracking. 

To clean your leather item wipe fist with lukewarm water and a sponge. Once it has dried naturally you can apply a good quality leather balm.
