At J.H.Leather we believe in passing on our knowledge so that others can enjoy our passion for leatherwork. We offer 1:1 workshops for any skill level, from complete beginner where we will learn to hand stitch leather in the morning and complete a project in the afternoon on a 1 day workshop, through to advanced crafters want to hone their skills.
We also offer a brand new online course for those who are looking to get into leather unable to attend our in person 1-1 workshops. In addition, we also have a YouTube channel with an extensive range of free video tutorials.
From 2025, Jo is also hosting classes at the Walsall Leather Skills Centre. These classes cover a range of skills and projects from complete beginners on a 1-day introduction class, to more advanced crafters looking to add to their skills under the guidance of an expert.

We created our online course 'Introduction to leathercraft' as a way for complete beginners to get started with leathercraft. In it, we cover the different types of leather, beginner tools, and we get straight in on your first projects. We guide you though the making of a coaster, key fob and a passport cover.
Since 2016 Jo has been creating and sharing free tutorials on the J.H.leather YouTube Channel. There is a plethora of videos from in depth skills, tool sharpening as well as the popular make along videos. From our beginner 101 series looking at core skills to get you started in leathercraft, to creating bags, wallets and dog collars, there will be a video to suit your skill levels and help you to elevate your work.
in 2025, Jo started to teach courses at the Walsall Leather Skills Centre. These are held in small groups of up to 6 peoople and are an afforable way for you to learn from a master.
